Extra Virgin Olive oil

Extra virgin olive oil is obtained from the fruit of the olive tree by mechanical methods and by the process of cold pressing. It is the best quality category of virgin olive oil, with a perfect aroma and taste, without any defects in the organoleptic evaluation.

It is characterised by a straw-yellow colour, a soft, sweet taste and a strong aroma.

It is produced from selected olives of the KOLOVI variety from the wider semi-mountainous - mountainous area of the olive grove of IERA Land. An olive oil that will elevate your every dish.

Olive oil of the "Kolovi" variety

The Kolovi variety is the most characteristic variety cultivated in Lesvos in about 70%. It is dual-purpose because it is also used for the production of table olives for export.     

It has a high oil content of about 22-25%. The olive oil is of excellent quality with a strong aroma, a soft, sweet taste and a golden yellow colour and is one of the best oil-producing varieties, both in terms of productivity and quality.

IERA GOLD olive oil is produced in Paleokipo, located in the Gulf of Geras or the Gulf of olive groves, where the mountain and sea air, the microclimate, the semi-mountainous soil, the rich flora of a botanical paradise, give the variety Kolovis, fruits for the production of high quality extra virgin olive oil "PGI LESVOS".

The know-how of our producers, combined with the modern technology available to our Cooperative, in all stages of oiling, storage and standardization, constitute the fingerprint of the "IERA GOLD" olive oil.
